This is a blog about politics, or, more appropriately, my study of politics. I am a month into my first semester as a Ph.D. student in Political Science.
I’m excited about the program, what I’m reading, the class, the professor, etc. However, I’m realizing that taking one class at a time and working full-time doesn’t always allow me space to fully work through what it is that I am studying. So this blog.
If you’re reading this, then congratulations, you found a blog that I’m hardly sharing/promoting. the chances of you finding this blog (if you’re a stranger to me) are remote enough to justify you buying a lottery ticket since you might just be a lucky person.
I do hope you stick around, however, because I’m really interested in sharing what I’m learning and would love some people to engage in discussion with on topics of various interests.
What topics will those be? As a student, I’m studying political philosophy and international relations, so a lot of material will be on that, but I’m also going to be sharing my thoughts on citizenship in American democracy, my reading, and my ongoing mission to be an “educator at large” for concerned citizens.
Overall, this blog is about the study of political systems, how to engage with them, and how to teach others about them. I’m looking at politics as a field of study, a part of life, and a heritage to pass on.
That’s what I’m doing here, that’s what this is about, but I’m sure that’s only what it is right now.
Thanks for joining me.
